| THE VILLAGE
Khatpoo is a remote mountainous village located approximately sixty miles south of the border between India and China. The village itself is located about 3 kilometers off a paved road along a mountain stream. It consists of 10 homes and some 60 inhabitants. The villagers practice terraced farming raising barley, carrots, onions, potatoes, greens, goats and cows. Electricity is available sporadically. Water comes from glacial melt. The village of subsistence farmers lives off the products it produces. ![]()
